Independent Artist Interview

HCM Interviews New Orleans Bounce Artist, Kyle Young Jones

Charlie Harris has been making “Bounce Music” for over 6 years with the “Bounce A Delic Production Team”. Hood Critic Magazine revisits the artist known as Kyle Young Jones for a second interview.

HCM. What made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
Kyle Young Jones. We are living in a technical age of making music. The technology, along with the flow of capitalism. Industry controlled profits platform what it is today. The new school version of a “Bounce Artist”. But Game Well Entertainment has given HDC Records some great platforms to showcase our talents.

HCM. On your current album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Kyle Yong Jones. I would bounce around my individual approach, looking for the sweetest melody of the track, chords and progression. The quality catchy poetry flowing, but driven. Some of my content came from the early New Orleans recordings that made it all New Orleans.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Kyle Young Jones. In early 2018 I had a chance to build  with the K And K Group. By the late 2018’s, Kate Krenis ( Ghostwriter ) worked on a previous recording titled, ” Where Them Bounce A Delics At” ( mastered by Souliner ). Today, I would have to say, ” Hot Floors ” ( mastered by Fabio Maiorano ) have received a great response on Reverbnation. An indie artist with over 61.1k streams, to include only brief radio play on Rap Monster Radio.

HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Kyle Young Jones. I’m attracted to the studio flow. Without substituting that “raw industry level” recording sound. That “bounce wave” sound.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Kyle Young Jones. You can research our growth over the years, with only 24 tracks. We’re currently looking to perform at the “Treme Festival” ( Under The Bridge ) and the “Madison Street Theater” in Oak Park, IL.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Kyle Young Jones. Our goal is to stay relevant, be more selective and connected to the bounce culture.
