What makes you an artist?
Essentially, artists are creators. That is me! I am a creator of music, songs, poetic expressions, and experiences.
When did you learn you were passionate about it?
I’ve grown up singing and dancing all my life. I’ve always had a desire to share my voice and songs with the world since I was a little girl (maybe 5 or 6 years old); I was just unsure as to how it would come to be.
How would you describe your style in one word?
Limitless. I like to be versatile and transcend boundaries. I find beauty the “least” of things per say. So I’m not afraid to take chances, and definitely strive to let my loving nature come through in my artistry.
How are you different from the rest?
I am Tempest. I’m the only one of my kind, exclusively created specifically to give the world what only “Tempest” can. I’m a storm of a masterpiece; we all are, within our own right. I came to edify, liberate, and have a good time while I’m at it.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by agape love. I’m inspired by my community. I’m inspired by textures. I’m inspired by traveling. I’m inspired by children. I’m inspired by different cultures. I’m holistically inspired by life itself. Life is so unpredictable!
If you could tell your number one fan one thing what would it be?
Never stop believing. I notice that often times we give up on our dreams when they seem too “unrealistic” or “unreachable” to people who have allowed their own vision to vanish. So, I encourage people to believe in themselves even when the dream becomes blurry and you think no one else believes. Holding fast to your vision can bring you through the darkest of days.
What would you tell someone that wanted to do what you do?
I’d tell them to be ready to put in the work. This artistry can be very glamorized and people see the finished product. They don’t see the sleepless nights, handwork, grinding, and the true amount of endless and ongoing effort that goes into creating impeccable works of art.
Who inspires you? Why?
My mother is a huge inspiration to me. I watched her acts of selflessness throughout my life and her genuine love for people. She really is a humanitarian. She calls me her “different” child. She has always supported me in my endeavors and always tells me to keep the Lord first and shoot for the stars.
What has been your greatest success?
Taking the leap into pursing my dream fully. It was the first step to walking into my destiny.

What don’t most people know about you?
Most people don’t know I’m bashful. I have an outgoing personality and I don’t mind talking to people (I think I play it off pretty well), but I’m very easily embarrassed.

Is there anything else you want people to know?
Yes!Yes there is! I just completed my first international tour visiting places such as Sweden, Germany, Norway, Canada, Finland, New York, Jamaica, Bahamas and many more. That was definitely an experience to remember! I’m currently working on an album to be released in 2015.
