Young Bleed is a very energetic rap artist with a raw edge and a hard-hitting tone.
With a focus on energetic beats and stark, unapologetic lyrics, he set out to develop a personal and insightful approach to hip-hop, creating compelling tracks that strike a chord for their balance of witty lyrics and memorable melodies, somewhere in between the groove of classic rap and the aggressive punch of trap.
Young Bleed’s most recent release, “Shut Dis’ Bitch Down”, is a perfect example of his sonic vision and aesthetics. This production is balanced, direct and forward-thinking, with a sound that feels refreshingly modern, yet organic and natural like a classic from the golden age of rap. In an industry where many musicians seem to follow the same age-old cliches, it is refreshing to come across an artist who uses music as a mean of self-expression, connecting with the audience on a much deeper level. “Shut Dis’ Bitch Down” has a modern and polished production, which really allows the mix to stand out for its clarity and depth. The low end is really fat and punchy, while the mid-range is warm, but never harsh. In addition to that, the top end has a nice, silky round tone that really contributes to a smooth sounding mix that puts the vocals at the forefront. Young Bleed’s work could be compared to artists the likes of J Cole, Drake and Lil Pump, but he certainly has a character of his own, as opposed to simply trying to copy other influences along the way.
