HCM Interviews Up and Coming Hip-Hop Artist “Young Cobain”

Young Cobain Interview

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Young Cobain. Funny story actually, I was writing a song titled “Young Cobain” and decided to take on the name as my stage name. I felt it was fitting as I have played in numerous metal/rock bands and I want to be that “groundbreaking” artist that everyone knows about when they think of modern hip-hop/pop.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
Young Cobain. I’ve loved music since I was a toddler. Everyone around me was always listening to different genres and it really influenced the music that I write today. I started taking music seriously back in 2014 when I joined my first metal band, and here we are today. I have a deep love and passion for music. I will do this till I die.

HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Young Cobain. To be honest, I definitely do have major influences but my sound was molded from my favorite genres and music from my childhood. I would say if you like Post Malone, Khalid, any of those artists, you will like my music.

HCM. On your upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Young Cobain. There were a lot of emotions that went into the making of my first larger release. I am still working but more info will be released soon.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Young Cobain. Finances are definitely the hardest thing for an independent artist. Funding everything by yourself is an absolute nightmare.

I am an extremely motivated songwriter. I am fascinated studying melodies and writing hooks.
What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?

I want them to feel refreshed and like they have finally gotten a new twist on modern music that they’ll love!

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Young Cobain. I’d like to shout out Billy Garrison for helping me out, Matt Mulkey, Nick Gorny, Lil Biscuit.
