HCM Artist Spotlight Interview With Hispanic Rapper Mexiko Carti

Mexiko Carti Interview

A couple days ago, HCM caught up with the versatile Hispanic rap artist that goes by the name Mexiko Carti for a brief interview. The rapper tells us a little about how he became involved with music, as well as his challenges of trying to break into the music industry as a Spanish rap artist. Check out his interview to find out more.

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Mexiko Carti. For being Mexican and my love of Cartier style glasses. You always see me copping a new pair.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Mexiko Carti. Well, I started noticing I was into music when my momma use to tell me to shut tf up rapping to Chingy and 50 joints when I was like 6 lmao. When I didn’t know the lyrics I’d just fill in the blanks and I was freestyling before I knew it was cool. 😂😂

HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Mexiko Carti. Well, I feel like I get style all around. I mean look where I’m at Detroit close Chicago a close influence. 1017 was a big inspiration. But I don’t think my influences are my sense of style.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Mexiko Carti. Well, it’s hard for an artist to come into the game with one genre. I’m trying to be more versatile, a lil Spanish love here, a lil murder rate music there. You just don’t see artist like me.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Mexiko Carti. As far as it comes to challenges, my challenges are getting clout. I’m to lowkey. People that do know me don’t even know me that well. I waiting for this to come out and be like 🤨 in due time. And what gets me motivated is seeing my peers breaking out of a generation of being broke by accomplishing what they said couldn’t be done.

HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Mexiko Carti. Well I want them to know that you can do what you wanna do whatever you wanna do it. Everything will come when it’s ready for you to grasp it.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Mexiko Carti. Honestly shout out ADAM22 lemme get a no jumper interview next for the one time. Naw, but more songs maybe a few shows a bigger bag and ya never know

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Mexiko Carti. Yeah shout out LUILONG, Juanlido, Rita, Corleone, RICO, 574 and my kids on suuuuuuwoo RIP MY MOMMA MAN 2020
