HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Princess Ja’miyla. My mom gave my older sister that name (Princess) when she was an artist. Her name was Princess Mimi and she and my two brothers signed with a record label at 14. After a while, she had to stop to focus on acting. 3 years later I started my career and I carried the Royalty name as Princess Ja’miyla.
HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Princess Ja’miyla. I discovered my love for music at the age of 4. When I turned 6, I went viral globally off my dance video. I knew I was a star and wanted to start making music.
HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Princess Ja’miyla. My album concept is I’m a Princess and my life is Royalty. The album is titled “Royalty World.”
HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Princess Ja’miyla. My challenge is putting together good music for my fans. My greatest attribute is my passion for being in the studio and making a hit.
