Sailo Interview
Over the weekend HCM caught up with newcomer Sailo for a brief interview. The rapper gave us a brief background on how he received his name and insight on his latest project. Check out his interview to find out more.
HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Sailo. It was a nickname given to me by my childhood homeboys. Then once I started doing music it jus stuck naturally.
HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Sailo. I’ve always had a passion and love music. It wasn’t until I was 18 and released for Camp when I really took it seriously as something I wanted to do for life.
HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Sailo. I can’t give nobody credit for my style. But I do have influences: Nipsey Hussle, Jay Z, Rick Ross, 2pac.
HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Sailo. “Welcome to the 5”, was an idea that came to me when I was in the studio I thought it was an intro to giving the fans an insight of me, my grind, the hardships of growing up where I’m from.
HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Sailo. I feel my greatest challenge with music as an artist is to outwork everybody. My greatest attribute I feel is being resilient and never stopping.
HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Sailo. I want everyone who listens to my music to get inspired. That’s my only goal when I create, is to inspire!
HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Sailo. Keep grinding, take my label too new horizons, and be the prime example of what hard work get you.
HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
