Interview With Adam Aldama aka Sizzle

Cover - Love PotionHCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
SIZZLE. I began writing my own music when I was 13 years old. I started recording in 2006. My grandmother had a huge influence on me. Ever since I was a young child, I loved to sing in the choir at church with her. She was the one to spark my interest in singing professionally. She helped me to believe in myself and my music. I knew I wanted to achieve something big with it.

HCM. Who do you feel are the best singers? Why?
SIZZLE. Artists that teach me a lot about how to sing and compose songs are very influential to my music career. Artists such as Michael Jackson help me strive for making songs on an album that are thrilling. When I listen to George Michael’s music, I hear subtle sung lyrics overlaid with a catchy danceable instrumental such as his songs “Amazing” or “Hard day.” My favorite singers that I listen to daily are Avant, Joe and R. Kelly. When I warm up for my shows, I sing songs from Avant and Joe to warm up my vocal chords. I love their melodies and how they are so soulful when they sing. I strive to be soulful when making R&B music. Listening to these artists stimulates my creativity.

HCM. Have you won any awards?
SIZZLE. Yes, I was the executive pick for the Akademia Music Awards out of Hollywood for Best New Pop Artist, Best New Pop Album for my debut Album “Love Potion” and Best New Pop Video “Eyes On You” a hit from the album.

HCM. Who was your inspiration?
SIZZLE. Michael Jackson influenced me the most. He’s a great artist, so I strive to be a great artist.

HCM. What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?
SIZZLE. I am always working on new music. New music and videos are in the works as we speak. You can look forward to a follow up album that will be better than the debut. That’s the main goal, to make the next album hit twice as hard as the first one.
