Consult Medley Publishing is an online advertising company for artists , now called Consult Medley, LLC (CMP). The company began in 2008 and has assisted many artists and companies with outlining thier digital growth.
Owner and Marketing coordinator Nicola Ballard started this venture to promote and create an avenue for literary and visual artists, and over the years expanded the video editing and website design business to television and radio. She has worked with Government contracting agencies to teach after school art programs and designed campaigns for procurement products. CMP is a registered Small and Emerging Business and Caddo Parish Fairshare Certified.
Nicola Medley, a New York native married in 2011 to Detroit Native and Visual Artist Qean Ballard in Shreveport, Louisiana. They formed both RudeBoy Art and NB Artworks, which provides airbrushed art pieces, artworks on canvas and crafted works. Together they manage both art companies and advertising agency. Both Qean and Nicola Ballard, are NWLA Artist Directory artist and have performed in and at events with the local Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Bossier Arts Council and a dozen other art companies in the Shreveport, La and Dallas, TX areas.
Nicola Medley (Bryant) Ballard, a literary artist, has had her published written works displayed online and in print for more than 10 years. Her advertising roots start as early as 13 years old, when she created her first art campaign with fellow students. She pursued her love for event planning and created through highschool and trade schoo. She provided talent for talent shows and public speaking events at the Shreveport Job Corp Center in addition to becoming a Greater Bossier Toast Master.
Nicola then attended Bossier Parish Community College with a mini scholarship to sing for the gospel choir before attending Southern University. While in college Nicola was employed with companies such as; Kilpatrick Life Insurance, The City of Shreveport, Shreveport Police Dept, Grambling Police Dept, Landers Dodge, Eldorado Casino, and Diamond Jack Casino.
During a break between careers, Nicola obtained and began one of the first liturgical dance schools in Shreveport, Rhema Word School of Worship Dance and Co-pastored with her then husband for a year. Her school closed with the end of her marriage, but she continued teaching and produced a dance DVD and how to book. Although dance was a passion her spiritual journey led her on a different path and dance was left by the way side.
After college, pursuing her first love Nicola seeked out employment with Shreveport Times/Gannet News and YP Holdings, LLC which assisted her with the skills needed to be a Social Media and Search Engine Optimization Specialist. Nicola believes that art has a never ending curve for educational, spiritual or physical growth so she continues to learn new things to add to her thirty-something years of being an art enthusiast.
