Shannon Keith Interview

_MG_1994HCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
Shannon Keith. I started making music and taking it seriously around the age of 5. My family is a musical family made up of singers and musicians, therefore music was always encouraged in our household. I wrote and sang my first song in church at age 5. A couple years later I took interest in the piano, so my mother bought me a keyboard and with it I taught myself how to play it and soon got good enough to play for my church at age 12- and to this day I am still a church musician (piano and keyboards).

HCM. Who do you feel are the best singers? Why?
Shannon Keith. In my opinion, gospel singers are the best singers, because that’s where the best singers I’ve heard in my lifetime started out or came from “the church”. Their voices are pure and there’s no boundary or limits.

HCM. Who was your inspiration?
Shannon Keith. My mother and father! My mother actually taught me how to harmonize and trained my ear for music. And I just looked up to my father, who is a preacher, because to this day I still haven’t heard a voice as powerful and angelic as my father.

HCM. What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?
Shannon Keith. My ultimate goal at the end of my career is for the whole world to know, sing, and love my music!

HCM. What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?
Shannon Keith. I just finished another R&B mixtape called “FREE” that you can download for free on DatPiff.com  at http://piff.me/179c582.
