HCM Interviews Club DJ – Tchoupy aka “Matteo Arcucci”

Today HCM got a chance to interview an up and coming underground house DJ who goes by the name of Matteo Arucci. Matteo Arucci is also an aspiring producer from France, who has a sharp ear for techno and house music, who cultivates a very strong passion for these music genres. HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Matteo Arucci. Exactly 4 years ago. I decided to change and created an artistic identity. However, I had a pseudonym called 1EVER, was the time when deep house was the trend and I used this name, but was just for fun. After a long year, I restart to play in club in Zurich with a new nickname “Matteo Arucci”. Matteo my second name and Arcucci the family name from my mother. I needed to create a name in accordance with techno music and Italian at the same time.

It’s a very solemn name, really vintage… Sometimes my mother says that it looks like a shirt fashion brand name…hahah, but I take this with sympathy. Starting 2018, I built a new name called Tchoupy, always in development but always a small label with more house music.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
Matteo Arucci. I was young, really young…, 8 years maybe was the time from dance and 90’s music. I was already in love with the beats. Starting 17 years I bought my first vinyl from house music, and played many good electronic music beats was the time from the house. From Erik Morillo and defected many new DJ’s was here, and push this music evolution from my music was always the same in coordination with the my passion for DJ’ing . The evolution from the technique of spinning has been changing many of my passions. The mode to play the new system with computers, the USB and CD players give literally another feeling.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Matteo Arucci. I’m producing a new album for 2019. I can’t say nothing for the moment, just I am always inspired from society and the problem I put always provocation inside the concept of my release…, it’s part of my personality.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Matteo Arucci. The most big challenge is to have a large public following…, from the house to the techno. My music needs to be a pleasure for everyone…. I never really play commercial music. That’s also my biggest asset. I’m always searching for ways to give the public a certain impression. To reveal a new music, we can compare and say this has big fireworks, represent a live music. I have always dreamed of playing with a good act and cool DJ together. That was always a reference for me.

HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Matteo Arucci. My music is weird , and will be the more weird as possible. Every track I produce have strange annotation and good
and she often marks people who love real music …..

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Matteo Arucci. To continue to play in clubs and bars, and produce new concept.
