HCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
Robin. I started making music at the age of thirteen. I asked my mother to buy me an acoustic guitar and she did. It is not something that I took serious during that time; I was young, until I was maybe about eighteen or nineteen years old. It started off as a pass-time. I played around with the guitar, made my own melodies and ended up writing songs to myself. I recently just released my very first single on iTunes and Spotify last year in November. Ever since then, I have been building a buzz.
HCM. Do you feel that the industry needs more artist like yourself? Why?
Robin. Yes, I am definitely a diverse artist. I feel like not a lot of artists switch uo their music. Me in the other hand, never have I been afraid to step out of my comfort zone. From soul music to alternative rock and even a soulful pop sound. I like to make sure that I keep my listeners interested with different genres. Plus these are genres that I love listening too as well. I have a very unique sound and style for a female singer, I think the industry needs more of that.
Also, my music is based on situations that I have experienced. As well with the perceptions upon certain circumstances that I have came across. I believe that people have to learn from what they go through, whether it is good or bad. My music expresses those experiences and those lessons that I want to share with others out there facing those same hardships.
HCM. What is your favorite song?
Robin. Sade – By Your Side
HCM. What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?
Robin. I want to expand my fan base with people from all around the world. Be able to sell out world tours, make more than enough money to support my family and I. I want to open up several different business all around the world that will provide residual income
HCM. What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?
Robin. As of Right now, I have released my two newest singles, “All I Wanna Do” and “Shirley” they are now streaming on all music platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud and many more. These two songs are actually doing great. My fans seem to love the new music and can not wait for more to be released, from what I have heard. I will be releasing the music video for “All I Wanna Do” within the next few months.
Apart from that, I have been working on new music that will bring a nice twist for the people that have already been listening to me for a while. I have always said that I do not just stick to one genre when it comes to making music and listening to it. I will be dropping those songs as an EP. I am super excited about sharing this project with my fans. Everyone is still getting to know me as well with my music and has not had the full dose of my style.
I am currently investing into getting a better production when it comes to the filming. I’m putting my music out to more radio stations, I am working to collaborate with companies and get more interviews. Also working towards an album, more live performance shows and eventually I would like to get to the point where I can open up shoes for different major artists and keep building my fan base as time goes by.
