HCM Interviews “Akhil Artist”

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Akhil Artist. My mother – ‘Rekha Sharma’ who used to be a singer in India at National Level but due to lack of support and money from her family. she couldn’t make it and my interest in learning new things like I learned guitar, piano, drums, a lot of ethnical instruments from youtube lessons.

HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Akhil Artist. I’m really influenced by an American band called ‘Green day” it was just ‘Billie Joe Armstrong’ and his lyrics + style who got me into music. for me, ‘Punk rock’ was life. Also, was very influenced by late R&B – Stevie Wonder, drake… I love to listen to R&B… I learned music from the World’s number 1 electronic music school ‘Point Blank Music College’ in London, U.K. I pushed myself harder and tried to make my own language blend with mainstream English language.

At present, I make successful remixes with more than 300,000 streams on my Soundcloud. for me there no such genre which can define my music but keeping all single genre and blending into one element could define my music.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Akhil Artist. Just released my new single ‘Lost Our Love’ under my artist name – Akhil Artist, It’s an English mainstream R&B with Punjabi language blend original song written, composed, sung, produced, mixed and masted by myself. Also, I made the music video and edited at the same time with the help of my friends in London.

MY LATEST MUSIC VIDEO:

Akhil Artist. To make music videos in the lowest budget, as I shoot my music video too. Mix my track and master at the same time. It’s like hectic kind sometimes but I love it.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
