HCM Interviews Homer the Vet

HCM.  Where are you from?
A. I’m from Enumclaw WA it’s a small town about 45 minutes south of Seattle near Mount Rainer.

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
A. I came up with my stage name by using my Real name Homer and making it Homer The Vet since I base my music off of being an Army Vet and writing my lyrics based on experiences from PTSD, Suicide Awareness, Veterans rights, and support for wounded Warriors.

HCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
A. I’ve been a fan of music for about 20 years and just was having fun freestyling.  Then I had a relationship with a lady that drove me to pursue goals and better myself in life. I’ve done a few shows and have 8 songs on Spotify as Homer The VET and a YouTube Channel as Homer the Vet with 23 videos from performances and my Spotify content and new songs on my Mixtape that’s Schedule to be released September 12th. So I’ve done a lot in my first year!

HCM. Today’s music seems to be about collaborations with the “hottest” artist out. Who would you want to work with on a project? And why?
I have lots of ideas.  would be Nas cause he has his song (One Mic) and it inspired me to come up with my song (One Voice) its a faster song. and it’s inspiring about how fellow veterans don’t get the support we deserve from our own government after going to war.

I also would like to collab with Disturbed because I love how they did their version of Sound Of Silence. I think a rock version of my (wounded Warrior ) Song would fit them as they support our troops at their concerts and on tours.

HCM. Does going gold or platinum matter to you?
A. I think just having my music help people around the world cope with the real topics of Suicide and PTSD and Insomnia can help them cope with the mental effects they have on them makes their world a better place

HCM. What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?
A. I’m currently working on new music for another Album it’s more based on how I live my life as a normal citizen but still us my military background into my music.
