HCM Interviews Aspiring Hip-Hop Artist “Young Phred”

HCM. Where are you from?
Young Phred. Thermopolis, Wyoming.

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Young Phred. My music speaks about my personality and my experience from growing up in Ghana, West Africa with that in mind I wanted to use my name Fred as my stage name but my then producer and best friend gave me a suggestion “how about we spell it Phred” he said, and I thought it was a good idea to make it sound more artistic I added Young to it. So Young Phred is my stage name.

HCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
Young Phred. Just to state music has been a part of me and my family as long as I can remember but taking music unto my self as a career has been since 2015.

HCM.  Who influenced you to become an artist? And Why?
Young Phred. I listen to lots of songs from diverse music Artists genres but the most influential has been August Alsina and Chris Brown. I choose these two because I love their dynamic style of singing and how rhythmic they flow.

HCM. Does going gold or platinum matter to you?
Young Phred. NOPE! I’m here to teach to inspire and to show love and that’s my goal apart from that just as my friend Xyfex says the rest will all be side effects haha.

HCM. How can potential fans find you?
Young Phred. I can be found on all social media platforms (@youngphred) Facebook | Twitter | Instagram.
