HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
30Kid. 30 Was always My Favorite number and when I was a kid everybody would say I look like Stephen Curry The Kid Version so I just kinda Always Kept it as 30kid.
HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
30Kid. It was by accident actually I was playing basketball and I got hurt had to get surgery so when I got surgery I couldn’t sleep at night cuz I could feel the stitches so I would just write and write until I fell asleep and I finally started taking it serious when I let my friends hear my songs and they told that all jokes aside I could really do this so I do it for them.
HCM. On your upcoming release… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
30Kid. I have A song coming out called “ I know you don’t “ and it’s about a girl who says she loves you when she really doesn’t I got the idea from just knowing so many people that use that word loosely and I just wanted to speak how I feel on the matter.
HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
30Kid. My greatest challenge is staying focused because I get so busy with my kids my everyday job that I have to find a way to balance being Malik and being 30Kid but I enjoy it so I take on the challenge.
HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
30Kid. After listening to me I want listeners to see that I’m just like them I wanna get out my environment and thrive to be better at life I want them to know I’m not Hollywood like all these other rappers you can approach me speak/hug whatever I’m just a regular person and lastly I want them to see what I been through and relate to it or learn from it.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
30Kid. I’d like to think my daddy cuz he told me he say man you gotta keep going you the only person that can stop you and a lot of people talk to me but when he did it stuck with me so I think for that.
