HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
JES-MC. Was My self Proclaimed Tag From School, Use 2 Write it at Bus Stops and in Toilet cubicles at school, not good, I know now…lol, oh I know alright…
Jes Is an abbreviation for Jester or Jestar as My Guy Prefers…
HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
JES-MC. Always Loved Music, Like most People from The Endz/Hood, it’s just in our DNA like a Scientist Son; all I could see was Science… Music was Celebrated EveryWhere I went as a child(Rasta Children),
In secondary school, Black kids that got into trouble on a regular basis had a Black support class, which I Loved, I’m talking Wen I was in school in the mid-90s, a RastaMan ran the class, My elder Brother was in His classes before Me so it was as if I knew Him before We met; I’d heard so Much From My Brothers, Every1 Loved that Class, Black Life Mattered in There Boy; Every1 was super Intelligent.
There was even a White support Group; but it wasn’t formal, they even had some Mixed Raced and Europeans in There, so it was More like the Blackest Whites in hindsight; in which I can confirm were some advanced criminals that started drugs early; Things were definitely more relaxed In The Black class…
So U see In Mr. Tullocks Black class, I was Free, real talk, I always wanted to get in The Bad Whites class but I just never quite fit in, I felt like they knew My Mum had always been relatively clean in terms of Drugs and I 2, “were clean”, they were some Badass Mofos so there were some vibes in there still…Ok so Less,😬Mr. Tullock presented Us an American Drama Teacher one day, Who was called Mr. Lord, He taught Us Rap…He’d be Like; “THE BIGGER THE BADDER THE BOLDER THE BARRACUDA …..” flip knows wot He was on about but He taught Us 2 Rap and We treated Him as Though His name was Mr. Lord 🙏 for a Reason, We Loved H.i.M.
HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
JES-MC. My Style is a mixture of old school London BadMan ting and the Modern evolutionary twist on that, so My style is that of A London Ganster; old, and new; laying emphasis on the evolution of not only the Gangster but of all Mankind. We all got to start somewhere; I was basically born bang smack in the middle between Good and Evil, no offense to My innocent Folks…
The Rastas I have always been surrounded by naturally; did What They do Baby……so I was a monster but I managed to change, We’re always changing and evolving everyday 4ever, I know, but I made a big change and turn My back on stupidity, Yes I’ve had moments but that’s all they were, My Goal is to spread Love Far and Wide. When it comes to spreading Love; I Dream Big, I Dream Galactic… Globals was My comfort zone, but I’m done with that now, Truth & Rights is My style ….and Fun, real Fun, not mischief, genuine silly Adult Fun…..
HCM. On your current/upcoming single… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
JES-MC. It came naturally to Me without any effort, the concept is just a reflection of My Life, so it just kinda happened…I mean, I made it Happen …. this is My concept of Love. I always Miss My Woman when She Sleeping 😭,
Nothing compares to True Love, Good tings come on those Who can wait……. patients are Key to discovering Ur Soul Reflection, Ur Ultimate Purpose.
HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
JES-MC. Being an Artist has some challenges that are not easy to see coming, but I am happy to be able to express Myself as Freely as I do… Music is just an amazing wonder 4Me, it is indeed; How I Prey…
HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
JES-MC. My Goal is to Help Us all get along Perfectly… I certainly have a Dream; I Have a number of Dreams actually…lol
HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
JES-MC. Gonna continue to make thoughtful Diverse Music for all My Blessed Scientifically: Proven_ Angels out dere…
