Chepz Interview

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Chepz. My real name it’s Jose. Spanish people named Jose they tend to call them Chepe, so people from the states use to call me “Chepz” meaning to say “Chepe” but in English, so I left it like that because it’s who I am that way I don’t have to change my name and it’s more like the real me….

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
Chepz. I have always loved music ever since I was a kid. As I got older I felt like I was deep in it to a point by being influence by many good other musicians that I felt that was my thing. It have been more then 16 years now and I’m hope more to come. I enjoy it.

HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Chepz. Hip hop more than anything is my favorite. I love music in all forms. As long as is good I’m with it 100 percent! I just loved it since I was a small child.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Chepz. The name of my album is “J.E.S.R” which is the initials of my full name. I named it like that because it was all cooked at home meaning all the process without a mayor label. It’s a representation of myself. I offer the colors of the new sound of the new wave, still powerful and poetic music in it.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Chepz. Challenges as an artist will always be there . I think the most important is to paint the picture you think it means the most to you as an artist. That’s what matter the most. Always put out good content for the people!!

HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Chepz. The type that they feel like this is dope, sounds artistic, and funky enjoyable you know..

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Chepz. More music to come, more projects with god willing!

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Chepz. All of those that really took time to support me and those who helped create this album “J.E.S.R.”
