HCM Interview With TXL DIAN

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
TXL DIAN. Made it up honestly. I’m a creative and it sounded awesome. I had a name I wanted to protect from label dynamics so I just made a new one. I think it fits.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
TXL DIAN. When I was 6 I had this VHS of Alvin and the chipmunks “ rocking thru the ages “ and Michael Jackson was the highlight of it. That was my introduction to Michael and that was my deciding moment that I wanted to pursue being a entertainer. He inspired me.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
TXL DIAN. The double disc thing has always intrigued me . Duality is intriguing so I’ve kinda just ran either that concept of parallel realities. So each disc is its own reality.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
TXL DIAN. Really just the politics of music in general. Keep your head up through the bad years of bein a musician. You know, the early years struggle years.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
TXL DIAN. At this point I’d like to thank absolutely nobody. The double champ does what he wants.
