Aspiring new artist Natnikole is looking to captivate listeners with her music and believes that she will accomplish this with dedication and sheer determination. Check out our interview with Natnikole to learn more about the newcomer’s origin.
HCM. Where are you from and how did you get to this point in your career as an artist?
Natnikole. I’m from Portland, Oregon, and currently reside in Las Vegas. I got to this point in my career by staying consistent and pushing the envelope with creativity.
HCM. When did you know that you were going to make music a career?
Natnikole. I knew when I was in 9th grade. I’ve always loved music.
HCM. What musical influences did you listen to growing up that helped to mold you into the artist you are today?
Natnikole. My favorite artist growing up was Mac Dre. His style was very different from anything else. I was also an Eminem fan.
HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Natnikole. My current album PMF is a spinoff of Big Meech and BMF. Instead of “Black Mafia Family”, it is “Portland Mafia Family”, paying homage to my hometown.
HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Natnikole. The biggest challenge is not falling into a box and sounding like everyone else.
HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Natnikole. I want the listener to feel refreshed, like a breath of fresh air.
