Interview with Guitarist Ave Jassen of Purple Eve

85818-performingHCM: When did you start making music and taking it serious?

Ave Jassen (guitar): Yana and I met 10 years ago and started a band called Bluezubiki (very specific one). After 2 or 3 years we understood that we need a full band, because we really wanted to perform on stage. We found a drummer and he brought guitarist and bass player to the band. This is how it all started.

HCM: Would you prefer to be independent or signed to a major?                                           Ave Jassen (guitar): We’d prefer to be signed to independent label.

HCM: How do you feel about pirating?
Ave Jassen (guitar): I think that working people who can’t pay 2-3 dollars for an album are just sad. Pirating is terrible, but musicians need to find a better way to earn money.

HCM: Who was your inspiration?                                                                                               Ave Jassen (guitar): The Rolling Stones, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, NIN and many others.

HCM: What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?                     Ave Jassen (guitar): We’re currently working on a new album and getting ready for some great gigs. People can consult our facebook page of http://vk.com/purple_eve for news and upcoming gigs.

Thank you!
