Interview With Ish-Illa

ish Illa

HCM. Where are you from?
Ish-Illa. I’m from the SOUTHSIDE of Chicago.

HCM. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
Ish-Illa. When I was this young homeless kid in Chicago and then i decided to leave Chicago and started street singing in L.A., With know family know friends know nothing!! That’s when I realize this is what I was made to do and God had given me a purpose with music!!

HCM. Would you prefer to be independent or signed to a major?
Ish-Illa. I would prefer to be an independent artist, only because of the way major labels take advantage of artist, It’s draining to see that and they teach them the business by ripping them off but some don’t bounce back from that, So it seems it’s much lucrative and safe to be hands-on and do it yourself then to have major labels make big meals from your refrigerator and only give you crumbs!! Its not right!! But I’ve also learned that if you’re passionate about your craft and you’re willing to grow and learn as you go along, You will get better and then there’s more success. But real truth if I found a major label that would have my best interest at heart, We seeing eye to eye, They got they paperwork right and they want to see me win “Man lets go”!! But until then I’m independent Grinding!!

HCM. Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Ish-Illa. Not yet but I will be, cause I desire to grow and be better than I was yesterday and that’s one of the main ingredients you need to be the best and achieve greatness!!

HCM. What are you currently working on and how can the people find you?
Ish-Illa. Right now I’ve just finished up the life after pain ep which is a small piece to the life after pain brand and the EP is in digital stores everywhere, Go check that out and I’ve been getting a lot of magazine and blog love, A lot of FM radio play overseas, On the internet and over here, and currently got a few solid deals on the table with investors and management and I say Solid cause they moving fast, they putting up real budgets, They hearing what I have to say, They done sat down and they paperwork looking right and they working hard as me or harder than me with their own resources ready to win. But while we’re ironing out that I’m working on the life after pain album, The follow up to the EP and that’s coming with a small movie in talks for a bigger movie, Also I got the new app coming soon as well and also a few offers about touring and I’m shooting a few videos and I’ll be on a lot of FM radio stations in the States in June and July, and just building my brand and trying to give to the world something that it truly needs right now, Some light in a dark place!!
