HCM Interview Up & Coming Hip-Hop Artist Exodus Swift

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Exodus Swift. Exodus means to exit out, from one place to another. Swift means swiftly, fast paced. So when you combine them it means to exit fast, and that’s the transition I want to help do with my music. That’s why my music is for people who struggle, people who are hurt. I’m doing something with my body of work to help you get from 1 point to another in quick amount of time.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursuit a career in music?
Exodus Swift. When I was born, it’s just always been in me. I am real music. I am true music. I am music in its original form. So I had no choice, I only pursued what was and is in me.

HCM. To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Exodus Swift. The culture, because the culture of hip-hop is ever changing. There’s so many styles, I am music, it doesn’t matter what style I’m using, because I’ve mastered all of the different styles of flow and my fans know that. it’s the message in what I’m saying.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Exodus Swift. 84 is the year I was born, and in that year, there was no hip-hop gimmicks or lookalikes and sound a likes. You had to be original, you had to have you’re own style. So, the name is basically the concept. It means let’s go back to when talent sold records.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Exodus Swift. I can’t say my greatest because I’ve yet to do it, far as my greatest challenges, that’s me. I critique my work more than anyone else. I think that’s with every artist.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future and is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Exodus Swift. I’m working on my TV show, I’m working on the shoe line, I’m just working. wherever God lead me.
