HCM Interviews Matry

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Matry. My boys used to call me Matrix because I once dodged a speeding car and I guess they got the name from the Matrix movie scene where Neo dodges bullets. Then I shortened it to Matry.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Matry. When I was 10 years old I performed a song for my school assembly and when I got the applause from the whole school after my performance that was when I knew this was something I could do in the future.

HCM. On your current/upcoming album… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Matry. I just came to the understanding that I had what it takes to win hence the name ‘I Got The Wave’

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Matry. I think my greatest challenge as an artist is getting people to work at my pace. But that ties into my greatest attribute when it comes to my work ethic which is patience.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Matry. I plan to release a few more singles and visuals and grow my fan base. Then release my first EP ‘I Got The Wave’ in November 2020.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Matry. Spifftv, Cue, Bursimo, Zeph Film, Nutty P, and gotta give thanks to God.
