HCM Interviews Female Rap Artist Ms.Daniell

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Ms.Daniell. I was always older than my age growing up many of my peers were older than me so I acted much more mature which is where I got the “Ms. ” from and I wanted to honor the man that gave me life so I used my middle name which is my father’s first name except my name has an extra “L” to add some flavor giving me Ms.Daniell. I spell it with no space because I don’t like to leave any space between myself and the “D’

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Ms.Daniell. Growing up my older brother helped me discover my love of singing by doing karaoke with me. He knew I had something when Mary J Blige’s rendition of Rolls Royce I’m Going Down came on and I would belt all the lyrics out with so much passion however it took a while for me to own my writing skills and put them to the test once I started writing in 2018 it was up! From that point, I continued to work at it until I was absolutely in love with the idea of just creating a new song that when I knew I was in love with music and wanted to pursue a career in rapping.

HCM. On your current release… How did you come up with the concept for this project?
Ms.Daniell. My new project my team decided that all of my songs would start with hashtags because I’m trying to hit social media hard every time your scrolling I want a piece of me to be there. Everything is about hashtags and attraction putting yourself in a category to be SEEN.

HCM. What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music?
Ms.Daniell. That I am all about self-care nurturing yourself and being proud of you are. Growing up I was always taught to wear my C.A.P Confidence Awareness & Pride and I would like to instill that into all of my listeners and carry that on their backs every day so even when life throws you challenges you can deal with them with elegance and class with no stress.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Ms.Daniell. In the near future I plan on going back to school I’m interested in a Broadcasting Degree and building my Superunladylike brand I don’t want to just be a rapper but an entrepreneur and a truly public figure. Unfortunately, Covid has left me with restrictions but I’d like to start up my nonprofit this year doing group beach clean-ups with baddies across Socal.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Ms.Daniell. I would like to thank my Executive Produce Rhason King he had a very big influence on my sound and how I’ve been able to piece together so many different concepts and make them come alive. Prior to working with him, I wasn’t aware of song formatting and arrangement so definitely big THANK YOU for That.
