HCM Interviews Lionel B

HCM. How did you come by your stage name?
Lionel B. My stage name came from people calling me Lionel B or sometimes LB. I’m famously known as Lionel B from my YouTube channel the Lionel B Show.

HCM. When did you discover your love for music and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
Lionel B. Ever since I was around maybe 3 years old I fell in love with music. Hip Hop definitely piqued my interest when I first heard the soundtrack for the movie Beat Street. I never heard anything like it around that age and I just had to have it. My mom has instantly seen my passion for music because I didn’t want any toys that year, just that soundtrack and a breakdance outfit lol.

HCM. What are some of your greatest challenges as an artist, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Lionel B. I think my biggest challenge as an artist is also being a famous YouTuber as well, I have to work twice as hard to show people that music is a part of me as well. People aren’t used to me being a rapper as well, but when they hear the music they love it.

HCM. What are your plans for the near future?
Lionel B. I got a reality show coming up and some projects with Rockstar Games dropping soon. It’s gonna be a huge 2021-2022 for Lionel B and my growing brand. I’m currently at 351,000 subscribers on YouTube and 89 million views. So definitely gonna be hit that 100 million view mark and 500,000 subscribers mark very soon. Also looking forward to charting on Billboard and iTunes top 100.

HCM. Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout-outs?
Lionel B. God, my mother, my children, and my publicist.
