Folk-rock music has had a steady growth in recent years as new artists are trying to make a name for themselves. The ability to play a musical instrument, especially the guitar, gives the singer more credibility when telling a story through their songs. Ryan Hodge, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, has the talent and skill needed to be successful in folk-rock music.
Ryan’s potential in singing was seen by his parents and other relatives as early as he was three years old. His family was very fond of the young Ryan as he would proudly sing in front of his family during reunions and other gatherings. Because of his talent, he was regularly asked to lead in school plays.
Ryan’s father was a huge music fan and he would always play classic country and folk music at home. Due to his early exposure to this kind of music, Ryan began appreciating the old school genre which was very uncommon for kids his age. While his friends listened heavily to Eminem, Usher, and Coldplay, Ryan was glued to artists like Johnny Cash, James Taylor, and Bob Dylan.
During his teenage years, Ryan began to write lyrics as he was also very skillful in writing poems. He would normally write about nature, the uncertainties of life, and his love for his family and friends. With his poetry and lyrical work, most people considered Ryan to be way ahead of his time. Ryan’s uncle gave him an old chest storage box where he stored the papers containing his compositions.
Ryan attended college at the University of Utah where he took a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature. He chose the course so he can further refine his skills in poetry and lyrical writing on his way to composing songs. With the help of his father, Ryan learned how to play the guitar during his grade school years. He realized the importance of playing the instrument when he began to make his own music.
As a freshman in college, a huge opportunity to share his love for music came when a relative asked Ryan to play some gigs at his bar in Salt Lake City. Ryan accepted the offer and started performing for the first time in front of a live audience. This was the start of many great things in Ryan’s career as he was offered more gigs in other bars in the area.
It didn’t take long for Ryan’s music to be recognized by a recording label. At the age of 19, he was offered a recording deal. This increased his exposure and helped the folk-rock community attract a younger audience. With his immense potential, Ryan Hodge is the musician that all music lovers across the United States are excited for. He plans to share his love for music with his unique compositions and wants to work hard to be successful. Ryan wants to be a star in the music industry and is constantly making improvements as a musician to impress his fans around the world.
